Grants Airtable -

Staying Organized & Getting Started (ask a lead for access if need be)

Airtable "Grants" board serves a historic log of all Greenstand's grant activities to date and will indicate if we have researched, or applied for this grant already. Complete a quick search here to see if we are qualified, have ever applied, for opportunities before time is committed to writing the grant application.

Research & log all opportunities researched in Airtable to save time later. This is how we stay organized and up to date as a fully remote team. Different section headers and statuses are used to indicate at which stage each opportunity is at.

Below is a basic outline for each section:

  • Gems - this space is used to save exceptionally well written components for future use. If you're unsure how to answer a question, maybe there is something already here to use. If you see a phenomenal write up & want to ensure it is not lost, then add it to this section.

  • Active Grants - this lists all of the grants awarded to Greenstand, allowing users to easily see what opportunities have resulted in funding.

  • Submitted / Waiting - these opportunities have already been submitted and are currently "Under Review" for award consideration.

  • High Priority - are the opportunities we are currently focused on and excited about. These are typically the grants we are working on now or would like to focus on soon - they're our best shot.

  • Tech-Related - opportunities specific to advancing our technology.

  • Low Priority - these grants are ones we think are "worth a shot", but not necessarily super priority. This might mean we are not perfectly aligned, the deadline is far away still, the award is small, or any other number of reasons why it may not be our best option for securing funding.

  • Check Back Next Year - indicates that either we can re-apply or possibly missed the deadline for the current year.

  • Invite Only - opportunities that we can only apply to if invited by a rep internally, so these are grants that we want to keep on our radar in case the right person or situation arises.

  • Research - lists sites that can be used to find new opportunities or research grant making orgs.

  • Research Backlog - is used to hold opportunities we are interested in, but have not yet had time to research.

  • Investors - indicates that there is a funding opportunity, but not a traditional grant. These typically include opportunities interested in generating investment capital.

  • Veto - are grants we have decided to forego applying to for some reason or another. Details for why we have passed on these are written in the task descriptions.

  • Not Eligible - also noted in Status window as "Missing Requirement" because there is something in these applications that disqualifies Greenstand from applying.

  • Denied - these are grants we have applied to in the past, but we unfortunately not awarded. If provided, the reason for denial or any feedback provided can be found in the task description. Typically we cannot reapply to these opportunities, hence their not being listed under Check Back Next Year.
